World’s Best Offshore Private Vault Videos For 2015, Part 1

Back on June 25, 2014, I published a post entitled “World’s Best Offshore Private Vault Videos.” I wrote back then:

Earlier this year when I was developing this blog’s sister site- Offshore Private Vaults– I came across a number of marketing videos from the various non-bank asset storage facilities.

This week, I thought it would be fun to share some of the best ones (in my opinion) with readers.

Today, I’ve chosen what I consider are the top three…”

Guardian Vaults of Australia finished in third place. England’s MINT was the runner-up. And IBV International Vaults of South Africa took the crown last year, which was somewhat fitting as Megan Coleman, Miss South Africa for 2006, starred in that classy production. It’s no longer up on YouTube.com, but scenes from it are incorporated in this later IBV video:

“IBV International Vaults Gateway”

Congratulations again.

And while my summer break from Offshore Safe Deposit Boxes delayed this year’s “contest,” now is as good as any time to have it.

One thing though. I’ve noticed marketing videos for the industry are typically being produced television commercial-style or in a longer, more comprehensive format. Starting this year, awards will be issued for “entries” in each of these two “categories.”

Taking third place in 2015 in the “short program” category is Siam Secure (Thailand). Their commercial looks a lot like what you might see in America:

“Safe Deposit Boxes at Siam Secure in Pattaya, Thailand”

Runner-up in that category is Sovereign Safe Deposit Centres (England). While the production is partly in another language (Hindi?), the visuals make it easy to follow what’s going on. I really liked this video:

“Sovereign Safe Deposits TV Commercial – 30sec”

The “World’s Best Offshore Private Vault Video” for 2015 (short program category) is Custodian Vaults (Australia). Theirs is an all-around professional marketing video that gets the message across in a small amount of time. Love it:

“Introducing Custodian Vaults”
YouTube Video

Congratulations to all. Stop back Friday, November 13, when Offshore Safe Deposit Boxes awards this year’s “World’s Best Offshore Private Vault Videos” in the long program category.

IBV International Vaults Moves Forward With Planned Expansion

The last time I blogged about IBV International Vaults, I noted the South African private vault (and trader in precious metals, diamonds, and tanzanites) was looking to expand operations globally. From the Business Day (South Africa) website on March 16:

PIONEER businessman Ashok Sewnarain is barely known in his native Durban, let alone the rest of SA and the world. But in the arcane world of international business and commerce he is something of a luminary.

He likes to push boundaries, is enthralled by exotic and fast cars, and is a philanthropist of note.

Sewnarain, 54, is the owner of SA’s first privately owned safe deposit vaults, in Durban’s Gateway Mall and in Sandton, Johannesburg. His company, International Bank Vaults, is looking for a prime spot in the Cape and in the next three months it will launch a global franchise licence in London.

“We will be looking for franchise partners to open vaults with similar security in all the important capitals and cities throughout the world. We want to have a presence in the trendy parts of London, Dubai, Paris, New York, Milan- you name it,” he says…

(Editor’s note: Bold added for emphasis)

I recently came across an interview of Ashok Sewnarain in Luxurious Magazine (UK) in which the head of IBV International Vaults shared the progress of that planned expansion mentioned in the spring. From the piece:

LM: With premises currently in Durban and Sandton, what are your plans for expanding the company in South Africa and beyond?

AS: We are currently working on the development of our Cape Town Branch, and have plans in the near future to expand our branches internationally within Dubai, Shanghai and Switzerland

(Editor’s note: Bold added for emphasis)

So we could soon see three IBV facilities in South Africa then. And while opening a vault in Switzerland makes perfect sense, establishing a presence in Dubai and Shanghai- areas of the world where private, non-bank vaults appear to be few and far between- could prove to be a real masterstroke by Sewnarain.

Offshore Safe Deposit Boxes wishes IBV International Vaults all the best with their planned expansion. For more information about IBV, visit their website here.
