Laigrow Safe Deposit Box Opens In Sarawak, Malaysia

A new private, non-bank vault called Laigrow Safe Deposit Box has opened in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. From The Borneo Post (Malaysia) on Monday:

The first professional safe deposit box service is now available for customers to store valuable items at a low annual fee.

The annual rental rate for a safety box with a dimension of 5” x 5” x 24” is RM365, 5” x 10” x 24” (RM730), and 10” x 10” x 24” (RM1095).

“Each safety box will also be covered by insurance at a minimum RM20,000 through an international insurance provider,” said Laigrow Holdings Sdn Bhd director Dato ‘D’ Raja Lai Kah Chun at the launching ceremony yesterday.

He said their services were the first of its kind here, and there would be 1,080 safety boxes for rent…

The article added that the Malaysian safe deposit box facility is running a special promotion for multi-year rentals. From the piece:

In conjunction with the launch, Lai said customers who opted to rent the safety boxes for three years starting this month would automatically get another year’s rent for free.
